UNDERGROUND METRO STATION

Metro stations are built primarily using top-down or bottom-up cut and cover techniques. Ground movement and surface settlement pose the biggest challenges to designing underground structures. Supports are critical during excavation and are sometimes integrated into permanent structures.

Bouw has the expertise to deliver such projects in a complex environment. Bouw, for example, designed an underground structure embedded between two tunnels with extremely low overburden. Furthermore, bouw has designed a cut and cover tunnel with a span of 25m.
